The video below and study are from 2008. I have requested information from the Mayo Clinic to find out where they are in this particular study.
Isobel Scarisbrick, Ph.D., describes a new Mayo Clinic study that found two particular enzymes were elevated in patients with progressive multiple sclerosis. These findings give researchers new hope for developing a therapy for progressive multiple sclerosis.

Thanks for posting this video. I work in Public Affairs at Mayo Clinic and just spoke with Dr. Scarisbrick for an update on this ongoing research. Dr. Scarisbrick and her team are currently verifying the findings in additional patient samples. They also are conducting additional studies to look at the functional significance of how enzymes affect neurons. When additional research is published, we will be sure to update the original blog post at: http://newsblog.mayoclinic.org/2008/09/18/progressive-multiple-sclerosis-potential-new-therapeutic-target/. Thanks again for your interest.
Thank you very much, Elizabeth. And if you could please let me know, in a separate email, how we may go about signing up for a patient study we would greatly appreciate the information. Thank you again.
